I’m Alex

I design software, and then I build it.

For three years I was the designer, the frontend engineer and the Head of Product behind Codifi. I led its rollout across more than twenty offices.

Alex Voigt at a wooden desk, looking at the camera: short dark hair, a trimmed beard, a black sweater. A laptop and an iPad on a stand are in front of him, and two woven plates hang on the white wall behind.

  • Codifi on an iPad and a MacBook, on the same forest survey project. The iPad shows the survey’s features on a 3D satellite map of a wooded hillside. The laptop’s web app shows the project’s map, with a flagged boundary in red, above a table of its records and their progress.

    2023 to 2026

Geospatial field data collection SaaS for crews with no signal.

Founding designer. I wrote most of the frontend and then owned the rollout.

    11% to 44%
of the national firm’s project revenue ran through Codifi, in one year
    20+
offices and practice groups across a national cultural resource management firm
  • Tephra on a MacBook and an iPhone. The web app lists six survey projects over a satellite map of North America, two of them pinned. The phone’s home screen greets Maria with the project in the field today, Cedar Hollow Phase I Survey, an Open project button and this week’s projects.

    Since October 2026

A rethink of field capture I’m building to go deep on native: iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, a GNSS receiver and ARKit.

2009–2026

17 years making digital products.

From twelve self-published iOS apps to product design, production engineering and a company-wide rollout.
